Following God’s Calling on Your Life

Have you ever stopped to wonder why God made you the way he did?

The Bible tells us that before we were born, God created us each unique with our own special combination of personality traits, physical features, gifts, abilities and passions.

“For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.” – Psalm 139:13-14

God created you the way that you are on purpose, and he didn’t mess up, not even a little bit. In fact, Genesis 1:27 says that you were created in “God’s image.” You were made perfect. Everything about you is intentional, and God has placed a specific calling on your life that is unique TO YOU.

For me, I knew I was born to dance when I was three years old. Tiny Kristin asked her mom to put her in dance class so she could get dressed up in pink and do spins so her skirt would fly up. (Yes I just wrote in 3rd person). But on the outside looking in people only saw it as a hobby. No one saw the God given passion placed in my heart or calling placed on my life by God. You see the truth is, God made me this way.

My heart aches for the thousands of girls teaching dance classes or pursuing dreams of making a professional dance team or company that are viewed as less than for following God’s calling on their life. Ladies, my encouragement to you today is to have the courage to be who God has called you to be. Don’t let those misconceptions about who you are or what career path you have taken discourage you. When others might be rolling their eyes, God is looking down smiling proud that you are following what he called you to do.
